Walk With Me

                                           by Cheryl Stevenson      Sept. 2017

Walk with me on this road of memory impairment.

Walk with me rather than walk away from me.

Take a walk with me and talk to me.

Even if I don't understand your words, your voice is very comforting for me to hear.

Walk beside me instead of ahead of me.

Hold my hand to make me feel safe.

Walk with me because otherwise life is more difficult for me to deal with alone.

Walk with me in the sunshine.

Walk with me when there is fog in my brain.

Walk with me because you choose to be on this journey with me.

Walk with me since you are my friend or a family member.

Walk with me because that helps me to enjoy my life!

Spend time with me, making new memories together.

Even if I forget, you will still have these memories that we are making.

Walk with me because you care, and not out of obligation.

When you walk with me on this memory impairment journey, it lets me know that you care!
