March 5, 2006

I opened the silverware drawer in my kitchen. I pulled out some brushes and I showed them to my husband. I tried to say that they were "basting brushes", but all that I could say was, "bastery brushes". It was as if I mixed together basting and pastry. My brain made the new word "bastery". I actually knew that I hadn't used the correct word, but I just couldn't figure it out. Somehow the word basting was missing in my brain. It was really difficult for me to come out with the correct words, but I eventually was able to do so. Although after I said "basting brushes" in my brain "basting" seemed like a strange word to me.

Sometimes I still have trouble remembering the name of an object.
