Problems remembering an 8 digit number

Today, there were very icy roads, so I had to call the 1-800 phone number to let them know at the retail store that I work at that I would be late due to the bad road conditions. I had to wait for the confirmation number, so I could write it down. This number is eight digits long and it is very difficult for me to write down all the digits accurately the 1st time. It is an overwhelming task for me! I had to have the number repeated several times before I finally got it right. I need this number for when I call the store that I work at and speak to a manager to let them know that I was going to be late.
