Problems with my short term memory

While driving to work yesterday, I had these thoughts, so I jotted them down. I really need to keep my mini recorder with me, so I wouldn't have to try to write this and drive. Instead, I pulled my vehicle over, so that I could quickly write this down. The problem that I have is that I have to write the words down quickly before I forget. This is just one of the ways that living with a memory impairment has affected my life.

If I didn’t have a memory impairment, I would probably be updating my resume and trying to get a job in a different school, one that would give paraprofessionals medical benefits. This really isn’t an option for me because keeping as much of my life the same, helps me to function at my best. This is my 12th year working in this school district. It would not be good for me to work in an unfamiliar building and co-workers who I don’t know. It would just cause much more confusion in my brain!!
