Problems with my memory

Recently, I picked up the timer for my electric toothbrush and figured out how to open the battery compartment. Then I changed the time so it was correct. This is something that I was able to do before, but then forgot and now remembered it again. Of course, I’m really happy that I was able to do this. This is what happens to me, but I don’t really remember how often.
The other day, I had a problem looking up a friend’s phone number in my phone book. Her first name begins with a P, so I looked under the names that ended in P, since it is in alphabetical order. Then I realized that I needed to look under her last name. This would have been an easy task if I could have remembered what her last name is. So, I just kept turning the pages, looking at all the names and phone numbers until I found it.
This has made me realize that I probably should type up a new phone book for myself, since I think that this will happen again. I should have two phone books, one that is alphabetized by a person’s last name and one by their first names. Whenever possible, I try to do things that will make my life easier and less stress. These are just two things that I used to be able to just do without thinking about doing them. Now, not so much! I no longer take for granted that I will remember things or be able to figure things out. It is part of acceptance, but not giving up!
I'm all about simplifying my life! I have a pre-paid cell phone that costs me $20.00 every ninety days to top up. I have never sent or received a text message and right now don't plan on changing that. I don't think that I really could afford a smart phone or learn how to use it. I have a house phone that I make most of my phone calls from. My cell phone is mostly for emergencies or if I'm out and my children need to reach me or I really need to make a call.
