I forgot to preheat the oven before baking

This morning I wanted to make some corn muffins for breakfast. After mixing the batter and putting it in the greased muffin pans, I went to put it in the oven, only to realize that it was cold. I had forgotten to preheat the oven. I had to take the muffins out of the cold oven and preheat the oven. I had to wait for my oven to let me know that it was hot enough so that I could finally make my breakfast. I was not happy that I had made this mistake because I was afraid that I was going to be late for my bowling league that I coach. I do a lot of baking and I don't think that I've ever done this before.
