If I'm struggling to find a word, do I want someone to help me?

While I was working at school the other day, I noticed that when I was having trouble finding a word, one of my fourth graders just chimed right in and gave it to me. I just love that about them! I thought it was cute! I think that I am more accepting when a student helps me find a word rather than an adult. With my students, I am not embarrassed by this. With an adult helping me, I think that I might feel embarrassed. Sometimes I make jokes about my memory problems with my students, but I know that they don’t really understand my problem.
I guess I would prefer someone to wait a short time to see if I can find the word. If giving me more time doesn't work, then I can ask them if they can tell me the word. I might feel more comfortable with some people rather than others.
