My problems with comprehension

Today I was noticing that my comprehension was a problem because I was having a difficult time communicating with staff at the school that I work at. One of the ladies who works in the office sells cosmetics and other things out of a book. I was interested in something that was in the book. She was explaining that she was going to charge me the sale price for some of the items and I didn't understand what she was saying. I told her that I didn't understand and she repeated it again and for some reason I understood.

I can't begin to explain how frustrating this is for me when this happens and how it can make me feel so stupid! But luckily for me this time I was able to figure it out. I'm so grateful for that.
