Forgetting how to use my washing machine

Yesterday when I tried to use my washing machine, I couldn’t figure it out. This is a washer that I’ve been using for almost five years. I tried to turn the dial to get the washer to start filling with water, but the dial was very loose and it just seemed to turn. I think that I did this several times. Eventually I figured out that I had to push the dial in first, then turn.

You would think that this would have been in my long-term memory, but sometimes these things just happen. I think that I can usually do the laundry without any problems, so the fog must have rolled in on this particular day. Hopefully today will be a much clearer day because I have to work. Otherwise, I will just have to work through the fog. Today seems to be a clear day with no fog!! Yeah!
