(Chapter 19 Music, Photos and Videos in my book)
Recently my friend commented about how I loved to take pictures. I told her that I have always loved photography, but now I have realized that these pictures are so much more important to me. If I can’t remember that I’ve been to these places in the pictures, or not know where they are, or not remember the faces, hopefully the pictures will help me.
Usually soon after I download my pictures onto my computer, I will edit them and name them. I try to put as much details on the titles as possible. The folder that the pictures are in will usually have the place and date. When I name the pictures, I put the person’s name who is in the picture, where it was taken and the date.
Right now, these pictures are just on my computer, but in the future, I should make some photo albums with lots of details in them. Journaling and taking pictures are helping me to hold onto my memories. I think that in some ways I’m using these pictures to help journal my life! I periodically go back and read my journals and look at my pictures to help me to relive these moments that I have forgotten. I know that sometimes a lot of the details seem to be slipping away. Instead of being sad that this is happening to me, I will be happy that I have this journal and pictures to help me remember.
