(Chapter 3 Memory Problems in my book)
Yesterday was my daughter's bridal shower and I arrived early to help out with setting up. When one of her bridesmaids said hi, I said a quick hi. I wasn't sure who she was, but by her friendliness, I figured we knew each other. I put my pocketbook and camera down and I was still thinking about this woman. A short time later, I was able to remember who she was and what her name was. I went over to her and said, “Hi Mary. Sorry, that I didn't remember who you were a minute ago” and she said “no problem.” I told her that is just how my brain is, sometimes it works and other times, not so much.
This is a woman who my daughter has been best friend's with since middle and high school. They graduated high school together in 2000. I remembered that she spent a lot of time at my home and I don't really know why I couldn't remember who she was at first, but I'm glad that I figured it out. I think that she even looks the same as she did back in high school. There was also another girl that my daughter had gone to high school with and I remembered her without a problem, even though it had been many years since I had seen her. Usually, my long-term memory is much better than my short-term memory.
