(Chapter 4 Finding the Humor in my book)
Living with a memory impairment
The life of someone living with a memory impairment. It sure helps to keep a sense of humor. Yesterday I went out and when I came back to my apartment, I used my key to open the door. Soon after, I went outside to clean the snow off my vehicle. A short time later, I looked for my keys in my right coat pocket, since I thought for sure that I had put them there, but they were not there. I thought that they might have fallen into the snow because I didn't snap my pocket closed. I looked for my keys in the snow, but I didn't have any luck finding them. I went into my apartment and I got my extra set of keys so that I could move my vehicle in case we get a lot of snow and my landlord needed to plow.
After I moved it to a different place in the driveway, I continued to look for the keys, but I still couldn't find them. I thought that I should have been able to find them, since we only got a few inches of snow. I decided to go inside to look for them. I usually keep my keys on top of my bird seed container which is near the exit door, but they weren't there. All of a sudden, I saw them on a chair near the door, but they had fallen behind something that was on the chair. I couldn't believe that I found them there because I know that I NEVER put them there. I was so surprised by that one, but I'm so glad that I found my keys!
