(Chapter 18 Problem Solving and Making Decisions in my book)

The other day I realized something. Each day when I put on my jewelry, I follow the same routine. My dresser is tall, so I can't see into my small jewelry box on the top. When I put on my earrings, I put my hand in my jewelry box and take out some earrings and keep doing this until I had a matching pair.

Recently I thought of an easier and quicker way of doing this. The very top drawer is very narrow and it will only hold jewelry. Now I take my jewelry box, open the top drawer, and other jewelry that it is in my jewelry box. Now I can see my earrings and anything else that is in my jewelry box. Why I never thought of doing this, I have no idea. Probably to most people, this would've been an easy thing for them to figure out, but for me it was not. I think that I have been doing this for about seven years. It wasn't until the other day, that I realized that there was an easier way to do it. Sometimes I just hold the jewelry box in my hand while I pick out a pair of earrings. Then I put it back where it belongs.

I have found that some days I remember to do it this way, but there are other days when I don't. On those days that I don't remember this easier way, I will go back to fishing for my earrings.
