My challenges with taking a shower

I've noticed over the past few years that sometimes it takes me longer to take a shower. Someone might ask, why? That is because I live with a memory impairment called Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). My challenge with showering due to my memory impairment is sometimes it takes me much longer to shower because I forget which body part I have already washed. I don't stress out about it because I just start all over again. I'd much rather be extra clean rather than miss any spots.
This could happen several times, while showering. I think the only thing that I don't do more than once is wash my hair.
Thankfully I know that this doesn't happen that often. It is okay that this happens because I can't change things. I would much rather take a longer shower, rather than not take enough time and not know that I'm clean.
Sometimes there is confusion in my brain, but that is just something that I have learned to accept. Acceptance does not mean that I ever give up! It just means that I have learned to live my life differently and make changes as needed to help me function.
