(Chapter 15 Medical Appointments and its Challenges in my book)

My daily problems with my short-term memory is driving me crazy right now! Since the end of August, three times a week, I'm being treated by a chiropractor for my left frozen shoulder after having surgery in December of 2014.

Unfortunately, yesterday when I asked the doctor how many appointments and how often in November and he explained to me how many appointments and how often for the next three weeks, but I just couldn't remember what he said. I talked to the receptionist, trying so hard to remember what the doctor had just told me, but I was so unsure.

I apologized and I said, “sorry, but I have problems with my short-term memory.” She asked if I wanted her to ask the doctor and I said yes. Again, I apologized for my lack of memory and she was really good and said that there was nothing to worry about. She told me that the doctor wanted me to keep the appointments for this week, including today. Next week, will be twice and the following week just once.

I just hate how this memory impairment makes me feel. It can be embarrassing for me when these things happen in public. I'm so very grateful that I didn't cry and have a meltdown!
