(Chapter 25 Caregiver Tips in my book)

Please do not tell them that they've already told you something numerous times. As someone who lives with a memory impairment, I don't want someone saying that to me. Doesn't the person saying this realize that I don't remember telling them once, let alone more than that? This can add stress to my life! Something that I don't really want or need.

They have no idea how it makes me feel! It makes me feel like I've said or done something wrong! It also can make me feel stupid, even though I know that it isn't my fault that I sometimes repeat things.

This recently happened to me, but I said nothing! I think that I just didn't want to waste my energy because I didn't think they would understand. I also hate conflicts so I try to avoid them! As a caregiver, please know that someone can be very sensitive, so try not to hurt their feelings. There is no way of me knowing what I have told someone and what I haven't!
