(Chapter 13 Interaction with Spouse or Significant Other in my book)
I was watching a Boston Bruins game with my boyfriend. I said, “sit down” to someone at the game who was banging on the boards. I'm not sure why I did that. I knew that I was at home and not physically at the game. This was really weird! My boyfriend asked me if I was going to do that when we go to the game in a couple of weeks. I said “no.” I told him that if he was worried about me embarrassing him at the hockey game that I would get someone else to go with me. We were both pretty mad! It was as if he thought that I had done that on purpose to make him mad. A short time later he said that he didn't like my comment about him not going to the game. I told him that I didn't like what he said to me. He said that I had “thin skin.”
He was definitely being a jerk. Why I yelled at a fan at the hockey game while sitting at home on my couch is beyond me. I don't think that I have ever done this before. It just happened and I really have no explanation because I don't know why this happened. With that said, he knows that there are challenges that we both have to deal with related to my memory impairment.
