(Chapter 18 Problem Solving and Making Decisions in my book)

Yesterday, I struggled to slice a carrot, almost cutting my hand several times. I hadn't realized that I was trying to cut it the wrong way! Perhaps cutting it lengthwise wasn't a good choice. I struggled through it and somehow sliced the entire carrot lengthwise. I was pretty clueless!

Two days later, when I sliced a carrot and I really had to think about it so that I would do it the right way. Luckily, I didn't cut it lengthwise. I think that for most people, this would be an easy task, with not much thought, but for me this really wasn't the case. I think that it is because I live with a memory impairment. That is the only explanation that I have for why this happened.

The next day, I sliced a carrot and I actually sliced it the correct way. It just seemed automatic for me to cut it the correct way. Why it wasn't that way yesterday, is not clear to me. As I cut the carrot, I just had to quietly laugh at what I had done yesterday. I can't really believe that I had done that, but yet I knew that I had.
