How my brain sometimes works!

(Chapter 3 Memory Problems in my book)

Today, I was listening to the radio in my vehicle, listening to a 70's station which I love! As I was listening to a song by the group Chicago, I remembered that I saw them in concert. I'm not really sure where or when, but I think within the past five years. As I was listening to the song, I tried to think about the other group who played before them and with them onstage at the concert that I saw. I tried for several minutes and I just couldn't think of the name of the group. Suddenly, it felt as though the information that I wanted was moving forward in my brain, but slowly. Now I could confirm that the group had at least three words in their name. All of a sudden, I had it, the group's name was Earth Wind and Fire!

You might say to yourself, “well, I do that sometimes, too.” But once you remember it, do you have it there in the front, or do you have to search your brain for the word again?" A few minutes later can you retrieve that information more quickly than the first time or does it still take you awhile to find the word?" Does this happen to you just a few minutes later? It does happen to me.

Well for me, when I searched for this group's name in my brain around two pm today, I was able to figure it out. But hours later, it was gone again. Buried somewhere in my brain. Making me search for it again.

The question was, how deep was the name now going to be buried? It took me some time, but I was able to figure it out again. I do know that there are times when I try to find the word/s and it will take me much longer to figure it out. There are also times when, I can't locate it for days or not at all! The next day, I was unable to figure out the name of the group that played with Chicago. I could not find it anywhere in my brain. POOF! It was gone again!
