(Chapter 3 Memory Problems in my book)
Last week I got a perm at a hair stylist school. While I was getting this perm, I ended up with a chemical burn on the back of my neck.
Last night, I was talking to one of my close friends on the phone and she asked me if the burn on my neck was better. I told her that it seemed to be feeling better since I have been using the prescription burn ointment.
Later that night, when it was time to put more ointment on the burn, I thought about my response to my friend. I used a mirror and I looked at the burn and I wondered if I could answer my friend's question correctly. I think that in order to do this, I needed to remember what the burn felt and looked like a few days ago. Because I have short term memory problems, it is not so easy for me to answer a question such as this one. My memory problems really can create problems for me.
I just remembered something that will help me to answer this question. I took a few pictures of this burn and they are on my computer. That should help me figure this out, because I don't have to rely on my memory. Now I can just look at the pictures from a few days ago and compare them with what I see in the mirror. I just looked at the pictures on my computer and then looked at my burn with a mirror and it does look better. I'm so glad that problem was resolved.
