I was getting the different characters mixed up in a movie

(Chapter 3 Memory Problems in my book)

During the holiday season, I have been watching a lot of holiday movies. Very recently while I was watching a movie, I noticed something. At the beginning of the movie, it started with a woman, a man and some co-workers. A few minutes later the woman was talking to two different men, but it took me a few minutes to realize that neither one of these men were the man that I saw her with in the beginning of the movie. I think that this happens to me because of how bad my short-term memory is. I was not remembering what the first man's face looked like or his name. This can make following a story line very challenging for me to do. I think that this has happened before, but I'm not really sure. When you live with a memory impairment you forget so much in any day.

I will continue to watch movies and different tv shows that I enjoy and know that sometimes this just happens and there is nothing that I can do to change that. This might explain why I will sometimes watch movies more than once over the holiday season. Watching them more than once helps me to comprehend more of the movie and remember what is happening so I can “connect the dots” so to speak. The other reason that I watch the same movie again is because I don't remember seeing it before.
