When I have trouble finding a word that I want to use, do I replace it with a different word?

When I can't find a word, I stay usually stuck and I can't finish the sentence. Most of the time, I can't find a replacement word. I wished that I could do that but I usually can't. It would make it easier for me if I could do this. I wouldn't feel embarrassed because I would be able to finish my sentence rather than stay stuck.
