(Chapter 13 Interaction with Spouse or Significant Other in my book)

I think that some people have a hard time understanding what it is like for someone who lives with a memory impairment. I know that when I was with my boyfriend, I told him that sometimes when we went somewhere or did something, it was as if it is the first time for me, even though a part of me knows it really isn't. He said "that must be nice to experience things as if it was the first time, even though it wasn't!" I remember getting very mad at his comment and telling him that it wasn't something that I enjoyed happening to me, but that I really didn't have a choice!
