(Chapter 23 Living with a memory impairment and being a Nana in my book)
Today I drove to my daughter's house so that I could go to the hair salon with her and the twins who are almost five months old. I went with her because the ladies who work at the salon wanted to see the twins. I went to take care of the babies for her while she had her hair done. I fed, burped and changed both of them. I think that we were there for at least an hour or a little more. Both babies fell asleep in the car on the way home. They continued their naps after we arrived at her home. At about 4:30 my daughter left to go to dinner with work employees, then to softball practice. Later a good friend texted me and asked if I still wanted company and I said yes, so she said that she would be there soon. Before my friend came, I fed, burped and changed both babies. My friend stayed for about an hour. My daughter was texting me a few times making sure the babies were okay and I told her they were fine.
I think that my daughter got home a little after 7:30 pm. After my daughter got home. Ellie was ready to be fed so she fed her. I was able to rock Ava and she fell asleep on me. I put her in her bassinet and then I went home. It was a good night with the babies! I babysat both babies alone for about three hours. My friend visited for about an hour, but all we did was play with the babies. They weren't due to be fed and they didn't need to be changed. I think that this is the longest time that my daughter has left me with the babies and everything turned out fine. I was able to handle everything. I'm so glad that she trusted me enough to leave the babies in my care for about three hours.
