(Chapter 3 Memory Problems in my book)
Today is my third day of orientation for the senior companion program that I am going to be a volunteer with. The woman who was here first thing this morning I remembered seeing on Monday but I don't remember her name. A short time later, another woman arrived to do some of the training. She was not introduced to us so I assumed we had already met her. She was with us either yesterday or Monday but that is only a guess because I don't really remember. It is so terrible that I can't remember someone who I met one or two days ago.
As I am sitting here at the orientation learning how to be a senior companion, I am thinking that the woman who is talking is the one who hired me last month. Later in the day she was sitting right next to me and I figured it out. While she was talking, it was something about hearing her voice that triggered the memory and recognition of her face. I think that she was a presenter yesterday and I am pretty sure that she was here on Monday too. But yesterday I didn't recognize her. I think that the confusion happened because there were three women who trained us over three days. I think they usually did the training by themselves, so we only saw one of them at a time.
