(Chapter 12 Navigating Relationships While Living with a Memory Impairment in my book)

I think that I have lots of different challenges with talking to someone, but it greatly varies from moment to moment or day to day. Sometimes I have to concentrate so much on their words so that I can remember, comprehend, then be able to respond, but other times I am fine as if there is nothing wrong with my brain. Sometimes I have to tell myself not to interrupt someone because I'm afraid that I will forget what I want to say in response to their words. I really hate when these things happen but I have learned to accept it because there is nothing that I can do to change it. There are also times when I don't comprehend someone's words and if I tell them that, if they reword it, it might work, but sometimes it still won't. Sometimes all I need in order to understand the words is more processing time.
