(Chapter 7 Driving While Living with a Memory Impairment in my book) I’m not sure if this was the fog or just my memory!
This morning was a little scary for me! I went out to run a few errands and after I got off the highway, I decided to get some gas. Unfortunately, I pulled into the post office parking lot. As I was turning my vehicle around and was leaving the parking lot, I was more confused. Which direction was the gas station? I wasn't quite sure, but I decided to go right and try to find the gas station. Luckily, I found it only a short distance up the road. I got the gas and then I went home. Thankfully, I was only about five minutes from my apartment.
In thinking about this morning, the reason that it concerns me is that I know that while I was driving home, the fog rolled in because otherwise I wouldn't have pulled into the parking lot of the post office. I would have just driven to the gas station. I don't remember experiencing the fog before while I was driving. Then again, I'm not really sure.
The good thing about the “fog” this morning is that I don't think that it lasted very long, so for that I am very thankful! I think that the rest of my day and my evening has been fine. I was able to get some things done for Christmas without any problems.
I think that for now I will just need to monitor this and keep track of how often the “fog” is arriving while I'm driving. I am hoping that it won't happen again while I'm driving.
