Why is it called “Mild” cognitive impairment?

It is called mild cognitive impairment (MCI) but there are times when the symptoms are anything but mild! I think that some of the symptoms are very similar to dementia. When I am dealing with the very thick fog, it is far from mild! Instead, it is horrible to deal with!
