Can a traumatic experience cause MCI?

I think that my memory impairment symptoms started appearing after many, many years of being married to a verbally and emotionally abusive man who also had anger problems. After I told my first neurologist about the problems in my marriage, he told me that the abuse was most likely the cause of my MCI. About a year after my MCI diagnosis, I started having PTSD symptoms that were related to my ex-husband’s severe anger. It lasted for about three years.
