(Chapter 1 Symptoms and Diagnosis in my book)

This question came up in a mild cognitive impairment social media group that I am in: “Aren't you scared that your symptoms will further deteriorate and eventually progress to dementia? This was my response: "I think that in 2005 when I was first diagnosed and for a couple years after that I was having these fears that you talk about, but now it is just not something that I spend my time worrying about. I can't do anything to change my journey so I prefer to just live my life! I start each day with a positive attitude!

Statistics state that most people who are diagnosed with MCI do not progress to dementia. Only a small percentage progress. Fourteen years after my diagnosis and it is still MCI. I'm very thankful but I am also realistic because I know that at any time that can change.
