(Chapter 13 Interaction with Spouse or Significant Other in my book)

I don't think that anyone who you don't know that well needs to know about your diagnosis. I think that if things start getting serious, then you should tell them about your diagnosis.

I choose when and who I tell about my diagnosis. I want someone to get to know "me" before they learn about the memory impairment. When I was in a long-term relationship, I didn't tell him until I felt like we had a very strong connection. He was fine with my diagnosis after I told him. If I date again, I will do the same thing. After all, I am not going to know everything about them either. There are people who I will just go on one or a few dates with, so they never really needed to know that side of me. I dated a guy for three months and I don't think that he ever knew.
