(Chapter 14 Comprehension Problems in my book)

I am feeling so frustrated because I need a lot of help figuring something out. Two days ago, after getting into my vehicle and turning on my radio, I realized that my subscription radio was not working. I have been busy for the past two days so today I finally had the time to deal with it. I started by trying to figure out when I paid for six months of service. I thought the easiest way would be to look at my online bank statements. I thought that I remembered renewing it in Oct. 2018 and that would mean that I would need to renew it in April and Oct. 2019. So, I looked at my online bank statements and I was able to verify that I renewed it on April 15th, so it should not have been shut off.

I found a phone number and I called their customer service. They told me that sometimes you just need to refresh your signal. She asked me for some personal information on my account such as my phone number, address with zip code. I had to really think about that because I moved in April. I have spent my time trying to forget my old information and worked on getting the new info into my long-term memory.

She asked for my cell phone number so that she could send me a link that I could click on that would help me refresh the signal. After giving her my cell phone number and finding her text I hung up my home phone. I went out to my vehicle to try to refresh the radio signal. I tried twice and I wasn’t sure if it worked. One of the steps said that I had to tune the radio to station number one. Lol They are assuming that I know how to do that! But of course, I had no clue so I clicked on a link that took me to customer service. After I texted them some information, they said that it would cost me $15. to fix this problem. I told them that I would not agree to those charges because I had already paid for six months of service that didn’t expire until Oct. I told him that someone screwed up my account and I was not going to pay for it! He texted me back, “in that case, I will waive the charges.”

Luckily this guy was very patient with me and he explained in detail how I needed to tune into the correct station. Thankfully after what seemed like an hour, it was fixed! I am so thankful that I was able to get that done!

It made me feel like I was a child who couldn’t figure something out. That makes me feel so dumb and frustrated! I hate how this memory impairment makes me feel and how it makes things difficult for me to do and understand. Sometimes I’m so tired of not understanding what is being said to me, knowing that I can’t change my brain! Sometimes it can be so exhausting living with a memory impairment!
