Do I ever feel stupid because I have a memory impairment?

There are many times when I have felt stupid due to the memory impairment symptoms. Right now, I don't have anyone special to spend my life with but that is okay. When I was in a long-term relationship of almost five years, I think that there were times when he didn't understand what it was like for me. It would frustrate me because I would explain things to him. One day he said something that made me so mad! He knew the problems with my short-term memory and he said to me, "it must be so nice to experience things as if it is the first time, even though it isn't." I told him that it was not something that I enjoyed at all. I told him to imagine being in a relationship with someone and they hold most of the memories and you only hold a few. I don’t remember if he responded to me.
