(Chapter 14 Comprehension Problems in my book)
Today while I was driving home after an appointment and running some errands, I saw a worker in the street holding a sign. It was on the same side of the street as me and the sign read slow, so I made sure that my speed was reduced. A little further up the road, I saw another man holding a sign, but it was on the other side of the street. It said STOP, so I stopped. He waved me along, so I realized that sign was not meant for me. As I drove by him, I could tell that he was a little aggravated by me stopping! Oh my! I wished he knew what it was like living with my brain. It definitely isn’t fun! Instead, it can be rather challenging, confusing and frustrating.
Several years ago, I stopped wishing that my brain was normal and instead I have accepted how living with a memory impairment affects my daily life. I don’t even know if I have ever made this mistake before. All I know is that I follow rules and laws.
