(Chapter 14 Comprehension Problems in my book)

Tonight, I was washing a mug that I use for my hot chocolate. I know that my daughter gave it to me for Mother’s Day either when I found out that she was pregnant in 2017 or in 2018. Tonight, as I was washing it and I noticed something that I don’t think that I have paid much attention to. On the mug it says, “Nana” and I had read that before. I read this underneath those words and a heart, “EST 2017”. Perhaps I had seen this year on it before but I hadn’t given it any thought. Tonight, I realized that 2017 was the year that my twin granddaughters were born. For some strange reason I had never connected this date on the mug with the year that the twins were born, even though I never forget when they were born. I don’t think that I understood what it meant on this mug until now.
