(Chapter 7 Driving While Living with a Memory Impairment in my book)

Today while I was driving, I noticed something. This was happening while I was stopped at a light, waiting to turn left into a parking lot. While I was waiting for the light to change, I was looking to see where I needed to enter correctly from my lane. I know that I have turned like this into this parking lot a lot many times. I know that I am doing this is so that I make the turn correctly. I think that it is very helpful to me if there is a vehicle in front of me because I can just follow them into the parking lot. That makes it a lot easier for me.

Living with a memory impairment, some driving skills that I have had for many years are just not automatic any more. Sometimes with mild cognitive impairment, there is a lot of planning going on in my head. Because I live with a memory impairment, I have no idea how long this has been happening.
