Nov. 29, 2020 (Chapter 1 Symptoms and Diagnosis & Chapter 2 Acceptance and Denial in my book)
I think that it is very common for someone who is diagnosed with a memory impairment to go from accepting their diagnosis to being in denial. It takes time to fully accept that your brain is not functioning like it used to. I think that acceptance is very important because it allows the person to focus on finding ways to deal with their symptoms rather than spending time denying that there is a problem.
