Jan. 20, 2021 (Chapter 25 Caregiver Tips in my book)
If you are communicating with someone who has a memory impairment, you should use brief sentences, the least number of words as possible. If the person is having trouble with comprehension and they tell you that, you might try rewording the sentence. Sometimes that will work for me and sometimes it won’t There are also times when I can just tell that my brain is processing slower. If I am able to tell someone this, they could be respectful and just give me more time. If I am in the thick fog, I am probably unable to let someone know why I can’t respond to them.
