Jan. 22, 2018 (Chapter 25 Caregiver Tips in my book)
Being in the fog can be a very scary place! If you are a caregiver for someone who has a memory impairment, try to find something that will help your loved one to relax until the fog passes. For me, listening to music can put me in a good place. Sometimes taking a short walk might help reduce the stress. It might pass slowly or quickly and there is no way of knowing. Someone can get very emotional and sometimes cry. Your loved one might become angry and or frightened because they probably don't understand what is happening to them. Just know that during this time, your loved one might not know who you are. Use a calm, soothing voice, perhaps a little less volume. Let your loved one know that you love them and that you are there for them.
