How can I encourage my loved one with mild cognitive impairment to spend some time on their hobbies?

My guess is the mild cognitive impairment is causing them to not even try to do the hobbies that they used to enjoy. With mild cognitive impairment, my comprehension is greatly affected. I’m wondering if your loved one has forgotten how to do these hobbies or they might think that it is going to take too much effort to get it done that they feel exhausted just thinking about it.

Sometimes with my memory impairment, it will take so much energy to figure things out and get it done that I’m very tired afterwards.

I would try to talk to them about your concerns because you can’t help them if they don’t tell you how you can help them. They also might not even understand how to do these things any more, even though in the past they could be completed easily. If they tell you that they just need your help to get them started, then that is something that you should do.
