How quickly I can forget something

Today I went outside to put some air in one of the tires on my vehicle. Yesterday I had written myself a note reminding me to do this. I had been getting a message on the screen and it didn’t go away once the temperature was above freezing. I figured the tire must have been a little low. I can’t remember the last time that I put air in a tire.

The first thing that I did was open up the trunk area. I looked inside a bag to see if I had an air compressor. I remembered that I had one but I couldn’t remember whether it still worked or not. I took the compressor out of the bag and I put it on the front passenger’s seat. Then I kept opening different doors of my car to see how many pounds of pressure the tire needed. I finally found a sticker that read 33. I started up my car, plugged in the compressor. Then I went outside, opened the driver’s door and took off the cap from the front passenger’s tire. Then I had to put it back on the tire because I remembered that it was the rear tire that was low. I took the cap off the correct tire. I put the compressor next to the tire. I attached the compressor and turned it on. I watched the gauge reach around 33, so I shut it off. I think that it only took me a few minutes to put air in my tire.

After I shut the compressor off, I was looking for the cap on the ground near the tire and it wasn’t there. I checked to see if it was near the passenger’s front tire but it wasn’t there either. I decided to open my passenger’s front door. Luckily, I found the cap on the passenger’s seat. I’m glad that I found it because I couldn’t remember what I did with it minutes earlier. I was just looking in random places because I had no memory of what I did with it. This is how quickly I can forget something. It can be so sad and frustrating when this happens. I just don’t know if there is a solution that could have helped me with this. I’m just so glad that I found it and it only took me a few extra minutes.
