I didn't sound out a word right

July 24, 2020 (Chapter 16 The Many Problems with Words in my book)

I was working on a word find puzzle and one of the words that I needed to find was "hinder". At first, I was reading it to myself but I was using a long "i" sound. After saying it several times in my head, I realized that the word had a short "i" vowel sound. I'm not sure why I said this word wrong several times. It is so weird when this happens.
