Jun 17, 2016 (Chapter 22 My Writing in my book)
One night during the very thick fog, the words came to me and I wrote the poem The Confusion. I think for me, getting my thoughts on paper allows me to look into this memory impairment world when things are clear for me. I don't remember if it helped with the way that I was feeling.
I had trouble sleeping and I was awake from about 1:15 am – 3am. I just waited for the “fog” to pass, then I was able to get some sleep.
During the fog, I wrote about how I was feeling. The next day, everything seemed like it was back to normal and I was so very grateful for that.
I live with a memory impairment and sometimes this is how things are for me. There isn't anything that I can do to prevent it from happening so I have just learned how to cope with this.
Being in the fog can be so frightening! For me, the thicker it is, the scarier it can become. I'm so grateful that most of the time I am not in the fog!
