Nov. 30, 2019 (Chapter 3 Memory Problems in my book)
Yesterday I drove an hour to my Mom’s apartment to finish cleaning it out. After I dropped some stuff off at a local thrift store, I decided to go to the cemetery. Since I had moved to another state about thirty years ago, I had only been going to the cemetery with my Mom. I don’t think that we had been there in quite a while, although I do remember mentioning it to her. I wasn’t sure if I could find it on my own, but eventually I did arrive there. Now I just had to remember where my Mom was buried. I know that at her funeral I was concerned that I would have trouble finding the location again. When I said something to the funeral director, he told me that in order to get all of the cars lined up correctly, we had done a little loop. He said that the next time that I came I just had to come through the gates and go to the right. Today, after visiting both of my grandparent’s graves, I looked straight ahead and I thought that was where my Mom was buried. I walked over to where I thought we had stood for her funeral. Luckily, I was able to find the location. Because she had been buried very recently, I was able to find her grave. It was the one that just had dirt and no grass.
