I have had brain fog, word finding issues, trouble deciding something, short term, long-term memory problems and challenges with my comprehension. Living with mild cognitive impairment is not really something that anyone chooses to do but it is something that they are left to deal with.
I feel like there is power related to living with a memory impairment. I think the power within this impairment lies in how you become strong enough to deal with the obstacles or whether you crumble because of them. This journey will either make you weaker or stronger. I have chosen to take control over this journey and use it to become stronger. I have been on this journey for about fifteen years. I continue to learn from this experience and add tools to my tool box as I need them. By this I mean that as this journey continues on, I am figuring out how to manage the memory impairment symptoms and cope with them when they are present.
