May 3, 2020 (Chapter 24 My Thoughts and Feelings in my book)
I have had brain fog, word finding issues, trouble making decisions, short and long-term memory issues and challenges with my comprehension. Living with mild cognitive impairment is not really something that anyone chooses to do but it is something that they are left to deal with.
I feel like there is power related to living with a memory impairment. I think the power within this impairment lies in how you become strong enough to deal with the obstacles or whether you crumble because of them. This journey will either make you weaker or stronger. I have chosen to take control over this journey and use it to become stronger. I have been on this journey for about fifteen years. I continue to learn from this experience and add tools to my tool box as I need them. By this I mean that as this journey continues on, I am figuring out how to help myself to manage the MCI symptoms and cope with them when they are here.
