Memory impairments need to be talked about!
My diagnosis is mild cognitive impairment.
I think that most neurologists don’t really know much about it.
There isn’t much of a game plan after you are diagnosed.
People shouldn’t be getting diagnosed without being given
some written information about their diagnosis.
There doesn’t seem to be any common treatment among doctors.
They seem to be just “winging it.”
We deserve better!
The face of this impairment can’t change unless we talk about it.
When I was diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, I had never
heard of it before.
It needs to come out of the closet!
Why don’t people want to talk about their memory impairment diagnosis?
Things can’t change unless we talk about the symptoms and how they are affecting us.
People who are close to us can’t help us unless we tell them how they can help.
We can’t expect to be listened to unless we are willing to be open about what we are dealing with.
