My challenges with baking

Yesterday, I made an apple pie and some homemade dinner rolls for Thanksgiving dinner with my children today. I measured out six cups of flour. I put tally marks after I put each cup in my bread machine. This helps me to know how many cups that I have already put in. Somehow when I finished putting one cup in, I got a little confused and I didn’t know if I had just finished cup five or six! I became very frustrated and a little defeated! I started measuring the cups out of the bread pan onto a paper plate, measuring out four cups. Then I looked in the pan and thought that there was only one cup left. So, I figured that I needed to add the sixth cup and I did. After putting the pan in the bread machine and setting it. I hoped that I did it right.
Luckily the dinner rolls came out right and I’m so very thankful for that. Since being diagnosed with a memory impairment in July 2005, I have found that baking can be challenging for me, but it is not something that I’m willing to give up because I really enjoy it. I continue to find ways to make it successful for me to continue doing it.
