My Thoughts!

May 22, 2020 (Chapter 24 My Thoughts & Feelings in my book)

In 2005 at age forty-seven, I was diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment. I am now sixty-two and I am so grateful that my memory impairment has not progressed to dementia. I can forget something within seconds or a few minutes later. It can be very frustrating to deal with but luckily, I live alone. I would say that most of the time I can remember what I ate today but I think that if I try to remember something from two or three days ago, that might be challenging.

I know that I used to try to write things down that I didn’t want to forget but unfortunately there was so much that I was writing down that it was just too overwhelming for me to deal with. Now I only write down the most important things. I try to remember to put any appointments etc. into my calendar app on my cell phone which is also on my computer. Sometimes I forget something before I get a chance to write it down. That is so frustrating!
