I think that if you are a caregiver for someone who has a memory impairment and you see them struggling to do something, don't just do it for them. You should only do this if they are letting you know that they want you to. If they are just asking for you to help them do something, then you should help. Sometimes just seeing the way something is done will be enough help so that they can do it on their own. The fact that they can still complete the task with or without help might make them feel happy.
